What To Consider When Choosing A Training Provider

  • Do they have experience of working with PAs and PA Employers?

  • Is the training/development based on National Occupational Standards?

  • Does the training result in a qualification?

  • How will the training provider design and deliver the training/development you want? How will they ensure success?

  • How will training be delivered? Is it college based or workplace based? Do they use distance learning, with computers or workbooks? Will they mix a number of approaches?

  • How will progress be monitored? What support is there? How will assessments be done?

  • How will they identify and deal with any problems?

  • How do they ensure and evaluate quality?

  • What will it cost? How is payment organised - in stages or on booking the training? Will they negotiate a deposit? What funds can they access to help with costs? What happens if the provider fails to complete on time or defaults in any way?
  • Ask the training provider for a list of outcomes that the training is designed to achieve.
