Training Development Plan

A Training and Development plan is a written document that details the ways in which your PA can improve their performance. Determining the development needs of your PA will enable them to carry out the duties you need them to perform. This should be discussed with your PA.

Decide how you want the PA to develop in order for them to fulfill the role efficiently. Remember, this is a document meant to help your PA to improve, and most people generally are open to training and development to improve the way they perform. The ways to develop improvements can be specific training courses, attendance at seminars, shadowing other PAs (where possible) training or instruction by you.

Decide on a time line for the development plan. This includes when training and development needs will be met and when improvements will be evaluated. Research external training and any funding available and show how much you need to budget including costs for covering your PA during any external training.

When you have finished the Training and Development plan discuss it with your PA to make sure that you both agree the training needs and give your PA a copy.
