Evaluation and Training Development

Why Evaluate?
When you have invested time and money in training, you need to know if it has been a success and that you will benefit from your PAs' development and training and that you got value for money. You need to know in what way and by how much it has improved how your PA works.

You can answer these questions by doing some evaluation. Understanding precisely how a particular piece of training measures up will help you to select the best type of training for the future development of your PA and other PAs you may employ in the future. Understanding how much the training achieved can also help you identify any future training requirements.

Evaluating training also helps you to:
  • Track your PAs knowledge and skills
  • Find out if your PA is applying the learning in their role
  • Identify future training needs
  • Establish if the training was worthwhile.
Training Development
Many people like to feel that they are continually learning new skills within their job role. Whether this is through formal training, informal training, instruction by you or developing through experience, it means that people can perform their job better, keeps the job role interesting and provides the skills and experience for future career prospects.

A good induction, regular reviews and opportunities to develop and learn new skills and your understanding of what they want out of their job all help with keeping a PA.
